Antimatter LLC is a boutique software development and consulting firm. We bring over 30 years of combined experience across mobile, web, data science, databases, and digital publishing to every engagement.
Founded in 2026 and headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, Antimatter LLC is a tight-knit collective of senior engineers and technologists with over 30 years of combined experience.
We are a boutique consulting and development firm — intentionally small, deliberately senior. Every engagement is handled by experienced practitioners, not handed off to junior staff.
Our team brings deep expertise across mobile application development, full-stack web engineering, data science and analytics, database architecture, and digital publishing platforms. We've shipped production software across iOS, Android, and the web for a range of clients and use cases.
We specialize in projects that require technical depth, architectural care, and discretion — particularly around privacy-sensitive software design, Bluetooth hardware integration, and applications where user experience demands a high degree of refinement.
We take on engagements across the full software lifecycle — from early-stage architecture and product strategy through development, launch, and ongoing support.
Native iOS and Android applications built to App Store and Play Store standards. Architecture, implementation, submission, and post-launch maintenance.
Modern web applications and backend systems. From APIs and databases to interactive front-ends — performant, maintainable software for the web.
Data pipelines, modeling, and analytics infrastructure. We help clients make sense of their data and build systems that surface meaningful insights.
Schema design, performance tuning, and data modeling for relational and non-relational systems. Databases that scale cleanly and perform under load.
Applications designed from the ground up for privacy — zero-data-collection architectures, on-device processing, Bluetooth integration, discreet UX.
Platform development for digital content and publishing workflows. Tools for content distribution, formatting, and delivery at scale.
We work across mobile, web, embedded hardware, and physical media. A selection of projects — both client and internal — that represent the range of problems we take on.
A mobile application — available on iOS and Android — that connects to and orchestrates multiple Bluetooth devices simultaneously. The interface is a core part of the product: users choose from a suite of meticulously designed skins, each indistinguishable from an everyday utility app, each with its own tactile control vocabulary. Built on a zero-data-collection architecture with no server communication of any kind.
A bespoke music generation instrument built around an ESP32 microcontroller, with full MIDI integration and a custom firmware stack. Designed for expressive, real-time performance. Each unit is hand-assembled and finished in a one-of-a-kind enclosure — released as a deliberate limited run for a discerning audience of musicians and sound designers.
A web application for structured, privacy-first communication between patients and healthcare providers. Condition tracking, clinical notes, and messaging are end-to-end encrypted by design. A machine learning layer processes longitudinal patient data to surface patterns and flag clinically relevant changes — while keeping all sensitive data completely under the control of the parties involved.
A mobile tool purpose-built for working musicians managing large, dynamic repertoire lists. Handles setlist organization, real-time navigation during performances, and in-the-moment setlist adjustments based on crowd and room — so a performer can pivot without breaking stride. Designed to stay completely out of the way when the lights go down. Refined through direct collaboration with performing musicians.
An original board game — a distinct departure from our digital work, and a deliberate one. Game design is, at its core, systems design: rules, feedback loops, player incentives, and emergent complexity. We approached this project with the same rigor we bring to software, and found the disciplines have more in common than they appear.
We take on a limited number of engagements each quarter. If you have something in mind, reach out.
Whether you need a greenfield application built from scratch, an in-progress codebase rescued, or strategic product guidance — we'd like to hear what you're building.
